We need to rescue the Senate from Coalition control, and restore its proper function as a house of review rather than a rubber stamp.

If the Greens hold the balance of power we will address the major challenges facing Australians which the old parties only pay lip service to – climate change, water shortages, workers rights, access to education, a well-resourced public health system and social justice.

The Greens have responsible, workable policies and can be trusted with the balance of power in the Senate.

The Coalition and Labor only think about the next election. The challenges we face can’t be fixed with a three-year mentality.

The Greens take a long term view of how to lead the country into a just and sustainable future, so our kids have a clean environment, good working conditions, access to education and proper health care.

Climate change is a huge threat to Queenslanders. With the continued drought, and food prices likely to increase, climate change is already affecting our economy.

The Greens are about being proactive on climate change, to protect our economy and our environment into the long term. If climate change causes the Reef to bleach within 20 years - like 2,000 international scientists warn - that’s 63,000 jobs lost.

The government is putting all its eggs into one basket with clean coal. If in 15 years it’s shown not to work, that would devastate the coal industry and cause massive job losses.

The Greens want to plan for the transition to a clean energy future and assist affected communities. Renewable energy is proven technology, will create jobs and will protect Australia’s economy”.
